My nose is my nemesis

Nobody ever mentions the super human smell that you develop when preggers. If this is my new (heh as if i have an "old" one) super human power, I would like to return it. No thanks, return to sender. I somehow not only smell everything I don't like (i.e things that make me want to puke) but I also RETAIN memories of smells I ESPECIALLY can't stand. Like this weekend, we had bacon for breakfast 2 mornings in a row. And I SWEAR there was a cloud of bacon smell following me the ENTIRE weekend. And I SWEAR I washed everything that could possibly reak of bacon and STILL I would smell it. I would be in bed, smelling the pillow, comforter, my clothes and smell nothing. Then I would smell the air in front of me and fraking SMELL the AWFUL smell of bacon grease. And you think, bacon smell = bad? What the frak is wrong with you? And I say, I ask myself that very same question. And can you guess what my genius answer is? It's coz I'm fraking preggers! The weirdness continues! I just wish I would start showing already so I don't just feel pregnant, at least I'd finally look it. I'm freaking weird, I know.

better

I'm feeling better. I didn't quite keep up with recording my food intake, but that one time I did, made me balance out my eating better. It had a hand in stopping the pesky afternoon headaches. I can't believe I'm not feeling nauseous all the time. I think I had forgotten what it was like. I still cannot eat chicken coz the thought of it grosses me out. I'm not totally grossed out by beef, but I still won't go out and get a burger or a steak. I did eat Mom's beef brisket the other day. Although if you've had Mom's brisket, you'll understand why even that beef I just can't refuse. It's just TOO good to be repelled by in any condition. I am however eating an awful lot of pork. I can't understand it. Not alot - just more than other meats. I had pork barbecue the other day at Tito Manny's. I've been lunching on ham and muenster cheese sandwiches lately. And of course, pastrami, lovely, lovely pastrami. Oh gash, how could I forget - bacon! I hate the smell of it cooking, but I will not refuse crispy bacon. Hmmmmm.

I'm loving peaches right now. I want to drink juice but I'm overly sensitive to the acidity - even when I dilute it with water! Gross! I've been eating pears and apples too and goodness, if I had access to a sweet watermelon, I'd dig into one.

I love having my energy back. I think that (feeling tired and devoid of energy) on top of everything made me super cranky and emotional. It feels good not to feel tired.

B and I saw our baby yesterday during a checkup. We even heard the heartbeat! Freaking amazing! So strong, and deep, and super fast - 159bpm! The doc took 3 pics which I won't even bother posting just coz they come out so blurry! Baby is malikot already! In the first shot, s/he is "standing" on his/her head - yoga pose? The second one, s/he is covering his/her face with his/her hands! We saw arms and legs moving! The last picture is one of the hands moving to the face to suck his/her thumb! I know some people get emotional and cry. I felt exactly how I felt at my wedding - just freaking giddy, hehe. Weird huh?

New Year, New Home

Pinoy bookends...in our new apartment!
Originally uploaded by siraulo.

So we haven't QUITE moved in yet, but we made sure we slept at our new apartment last night to symbolize our new home for the new year. We woke up today and finally began unpacking - starting with our books and stuff we brought from the Philippines...I LOVE that I married someone who wants to decorate our apartment the same way as me:)

I suppose this counts as some sort of resolution for this year. I wrote the following this evening to help me do what I needed to do:

You need to dive into things. Get it done so you can move on. Don't let it weigh you down. Free yourself.

Or it could just be my predictable procastinator's mantra. *sigh*
